Firefighters Challenge in Bandera
Always in October at Bandera City Park located at 1102 Maple St, Bandera, TX. Bandera Fire & Rescue hosts this annual event where Bandera County Volunteer Fire Departments come together to compete in a timed obstacle course challenge wearing full gear. Come cheer on the volunteer firefighters, check out the open car show, enjoy kid-friendly activities, and enjoy some delicious BBQ.
Family Fun Day
A community appreciation event held in April on CLRVFD grounds. Come out and enjoy family-friendly activities, face painting, tasty treats, grab lunch with your neighbors and bring out your competitive side with some fun and challenging games.
National Night Out
Always on the 1st Tuesday in October throughout the Hill Country. Come out to CLRVFD for a safety-awareness and community-building night. Enjoy meet-and-greets with our volunteer fire fighters, safety demonstrations, kid-friendly activities, and great food.
Annual Turkey Shoot
Always on the 1st Saturday of November on CLRVFD grounds. Come out shoot at a target and try your shot at a chance to win a turkey, shop among some of the Hill Country's great local vendors, check out the Silent Auction, win great prizes in the raffle drawing, grab some lunch, enjoy some family friendly activities, and visit with your neighbors and volunteer fire fighters.
Boot Drives
Our fire department relies solely on fundraisers, donations and grants. Every year, our firefighters, along with a few board members and community members, join together to participate in three Boot Drives to raise funds for the operational expenses to keep the firehouse and equipment in good working order. These Boot Drives are held on Friday and Saturday, on predetermined dates, from 8am to 3pm. Dates are announced at the March Members meeting and at Monthly Meetings leading up to each Boot Drive.
